Van bevestigde artiesten voor graspop horen we niet veel. Alleen de hollandse Legion of the Damned zou al hebben laten weten dat ze komen. verdere geruchten gaan over lamb of god, mastodon, carcass en Motley Crue die pas hun europeese tour hebben bekend gemaakt. Maar meer hebben ze nog niet laten weten.

loveyou | | | Rock Werchter 2009 : Placebo?
De festivalzomer van 2009 ligt nog ver voor ons, maar de eerste bevestigde namen beginnen hier en daar door te sijpelen. Placebo zal bijvoorbeeld het Oostenrijkse festival Nova Rock headlinen op zaterdag 20 juni. Het is geen geheim dat de groep rond Brian Molko binnenkort met een nieuw album voor de dag komt. De logica wil dat ze de CD een hele zomer lang zullen promoten met shows op festivals in heel Europa. Of Rock Werchter op de kalender zal staan? Of Pukkelpop? Allebei misschien? De kans is groot, we houden jullie natuurlijk op de hoogte.

Legion Of The Damned is de eerste groep die tekent voor de Graspop Metal Meeting. Dat maakt de platenfirma van de band bekend. De groep uit het Nederlandse Venlo betreedt festivalterrein in Dessel op zaterdag 27 juni.
Legion Of The Damned werd gevormd in 2005, maar was voordien al bekend onder de naam Occult. Sinds de naamsverandering heeft de band drie albums op de teller staan.
